Design and Futures
Co-facilitated with Dr.Naveen Bagalkot. This workshop looked at where design meets futures, through speculative and critical design. Participants reflected on how design has evolved as an agent of change, and on its part in producing social, economic, and ecological inequities. We also asked how design keeps up with fast-moving technology and stays relevant amid harder problems. Working through digital, physical, and social materials, participants followed several lines of inquiry into the messy contexts where technology and change meet. The workshop introduced critical technical practices and placed innovation and change in the context of history and futures.
