Swati Sharma

I met Swati Sharma at Srishti in 2013, in the Advanced Diploma in Innovation, Experience and Design. Her mix of strong principles and inventive design thinking stood out, along with an honest, restless interest in understanding and improving the world around her.

She came in with a background in Electronic, Instrumentation and Control Engineering and added a postgraduate degree in Innovation and Experience Design, but it's her values that really shape how she works. She wants her work to matter, especially in healthcare and sustainability.

Her career bears that out. She's been Co-founder and Design Lead at M56 Design Lab since 2015, leading projects built around meaningful user experiences. As a Design Consultant at Northumbria University from 2019 to 2021 she turned complex research into accessible visuals, and as a Research Assistant at Srishti Manipal in 2018 and 2019 she used technology to improve maternal health. Earlier, at Frontier Markets, she was Assistant Manager in Branding and Design from 2017 to 2018, shaping branding and community engagement, and she's collaborated with Mathscapes and Maison Shefali along the way.

Swati now works independently, her design grounded in the same ethos throughout. Her range and her steadiness of principle make her someone worth having on any team.
