Daksha Dixit
I first met Daksha in 2019 at Srishti, where her sharp mind stood out right away. It was a privilege to guide her through her thesis, "Deciphering Algorithms."
Her work is about making complex technical ideas legible to a wider audience. The thesis, a collaboration with Simran Singh, argues for algorithmic literacy: it gives people tools to understand the decisions behind digital content recommendations, a bit like a browser's code inspector, but for the systems that shape what we see. Using explainable-AI methods, she worked to close the gap between how AI actually behaves and how everyday users experience it.
Beyond the thesis, she has led work at the Stanford Longevity Design Challenge and contributed to OpenIDEO. Those speak to what I saw in her from the start: real ability, and a knack for leading.
